2026 Topps Chrome F1 Value Box: box format or card value?

Value Box is a sealed product format, not a valuation of the cards inside. Topps lists it separately from Hobby and Mega configurations. Before comparing prices, decide whether you are researching an unopened box or one identified card; keep those completed-sale groups separate.

The official Formula 1 store describes a Value Box with 7 packs of 4 cards, 28 cards total, and two exclusive inserts. Check the exact packaging and regional product listing before assuming another box has the same contents. Do not carry an autograph promise from a Hobby description across to Value Box.

For a sealed-box comparison, match the year, format, sealed condition and quantity. For a card pulled from that box, use its driver, checklist number, finish and condition. The box purchase price divided by 28 is not an individual card value. Contents do not establish an expected resale return.

Start with the card number, not just the driver

A driver can appear on several cards in the same release. The official checklist identifies Lando Norris as driver card #1 and car card #89; Lewis Hamilton is #8 and #96. Those pairs are different cards, even before you compare finishes. A search containing only the driver and year can mix these markets.

Read the printed number on the back, identify the subset and note whether the card is raw or graded. Record any serial stamp separately: 1/5 means copy 1 from a numbered run of five, not card #1. Do not infer a particular parallel from colour alone.

Base, Refractor, Full Grid and inserts are separate comparisons

Topps describes a 200-subject base set and Full Grid Refractors numbered to 22. A Full Grid card is not an ordinary unnumbered Refractor. Named inserts such as The Grid also have their own identities; a similar name does not make an insert and a parallel interchangeable.

An autograph adds another matching requirement. An unsigned card, a signed card and a redemption should not share a price sample. Match the exact checklist entry before treating a rare-looking card as comparable. A smaller print run alone does not establish how much a buyer will pay.

One publicly documented sale, checked 24 October 2026

eBay item 327406901158 is marked sold on 20 October 2026 at US$127.50 after 26 bids. The seller describes Sergio Perez #109, Red Prism Refractor, copy 1/5, ungraded. The page displays US$5.99 shipping separately. The linked listing is the source for the identity, condition description and reported result; we have not physically authenticated the card or independently verified payment.

This is one historical auction observation. It is not a valuation for a Perez base card, another driver, another red pattern or a PSA 10. Shipping is shown separately because destination and tax can change the buyer’s total. We do not publish a market range from this one observation. See the dated eBay source below; an archived result may later become unavailable.

Build a useful sold-listing search

For a driver base card, start with “2026 Topps Chrome Formula 1 Lando Norris 1 base raw”. For a numbered car parallel, include both the card number and full finish name. Search the print-run tier, such as /5, rather than insisting on the same individual copy number. These are research examples, not claims that every matching title identifies a genuine card.

In our Card Value Checker, enter the year, Topps, Chrome Formula 1, driver and card number. Add the parallel and condition. Build my comp searches creates external sold-listing searches; it does not certify those results. If catalog selection and recent sales are available, confirm the exact catalog version before requesting them. No eligible result is preferable to substituting a different season.

Decide what belongs in your sample

Use several recent sales of the same card, finish and condition. Record sale date, currency, sale format, price, shipping treatment and the original listing URL. Keep auctions separate from a fixed-price or Best Offer sample whose accepted amount cannot be verified. Remove lots, sealed boxes, reprints and titles with conflicting card details.

For graded cards, match grading company, service and numeric grade. A raw listing described as near mint is not a PSA 9. For raw Chrome, inspect surface scratches, print lines, corners and edges in the actual listing photos. A clean-looking front image does not establish the condition of the back.

When there is not enough evidence

Do not turn a single result into a set-wide price guide. For a thinly traded parallel, say that the evidence is insufficient and preserve the dated observation. A different driver or finish may provide context, but it does not become an exact comparable.

Early release results can change as more copies reach buyers. Recheck the same version over a consistent recent window and retain the dates. We have not established a multi-sale market range for this guide. The official checklist explains what exists; completed-sale evidence is needed to estimate what a particular copy may sell for.

FAQ

Can one early sale establish value?

No. One sale can be an outlier; several recent like-for-like completed sales are stronger evidence.
