The number helps separate two rookie searches
The PSA reference records LeBron James as 2003 Topps #221. The Chrome research path uses another number and product name. Keep both in your notes so an abbreviated rookie-card title cannot silently switch the issue.
Do not identify the release only from the player’s pose or uniform. Ask for the reverse and compare the actual printed information with the selected reference.
An edition claim needs its own confirmation
Write down any edition or parallel wording in the seller’s description. A title that adds a premium-sounding phrase needs support from the card and a relevant product reference. Do not apply a special-version sale to an ordinary copy because the player and year match.
For a slabbed card, compare the company, service, grade and label description. For raw copies, use clear front-and-back evidence; the grade of the certification example below is not a proposed grade for your card.
A useful range starts after exclusions
Remove other products, mixed lots and unmatched editions from the sales sample. Keep raw observations separate from graded sales and retain dates. Price spreads are a reason to inspect the evidence before reporting a midpoint.
Use the prefilled form for the issue you have, then change the fields if your copy differs. The page does not assign a fixed dollar appraisal; the individual observations and their match quality matter more than a confident headline.
Build the LeBron James #221 search
The form starts with this issue and an editable Base finish. Confirm the actual version, then choose raw condition or your real grading company and grade. A catalog selection does not authenticate a card. Searches and sales requests start when you use the tool.
Review the example card details above, then build your sold-comp searches.
Review every returned match. Where the tool supplies sales observations, their dates and identity matter; at least three eligible observations are required for an aggregate range. Read the method →
