  3. Check edition wording, photographs and the actual grade.

The shared number creates an easy wrong match

PSA identifies the ordinary Topps issue as Kobe Bryant #138. Topps Chrome is a separate product with the same player and number. A search that omits the product can therefore return a convincing but unsuitable comparison.

Look at the card and the complete listing description. If the seller title is abbreviated, ask for the missing product information rather than choosing whichever result has the largest price.

A holder is not a substitute for the reverse

Keep a clear back image with the front and label. Record the product description printed on the slab, then compare the card inside with the reference. A certification example on this page identifies an issue; it does not verify your holder or copy.

For raw cards, photograph corners and edges without hiding them behind a hand. Do not estimate a future grade from a single front scan or count a protective sleeve as evidence of preservation.

Compare the same product before comparing grades

Create separate groups for ordinary Topps and Chrome. Within the ordinary Topps group, retain the same edition and grading status. A PSA 9 observation cannot be averaged with raw and PSA 10 observations to manufacture a useful price.

Open the individual completed sales. An auction in progress, an unsold listing and a sold lot remain different kinds of evidence, even when every title includes Kobe rookie #138.

YOUR COPY · YOUR CONDITION

Build the Kobe Bryant #138 search

The form starts with this issue and an editable Base finish. Confirm the actual version, then choose raw condition or your real grading company and grade. A catalog selection does not authenticate a card. Searches and sales requests start when you use the tool.

For 12/99, enter copy 12 and print run 99. Searches use /99 to find other copies, not just yours.

Review every returned match. Where the tool supplies sales observations, their dates and identity matter; at least three eligible observations are required for an aggregate range. Read the method →

Questions about this issue

Does #138 automatically mean Topps Chrome?

No. Ordinary Topps and Chrome need separate product identification.

Should I merge raw and PSA 10 sales?

No. They describe different condition and grading markets.
